Members of the Bronx County Historical Society can take tours of the borough to learn more about its history, and one such tour explores Westchester Square.
Twenty members took the tour on Sunday. Their first stop was Saint Peter's Church, which was built in 1853 and named a New York City landmark in 1976.
Nestor Danyluk runs the tours of Westchester Square.
"If you wander through and look at the tombstones, you will see names that are pretty much forgotten," he says. "And they left their names in both neighborhood names and in terms of street identities."
