The Transportation Security Administration announced it is hiring security officers for LaGuardia and JFK international airports.
The TSA is holding recruitment events on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 at the Four Points by Sheraton-Flushing Hotel in Flushing. Attendees will have the chance to attend a brief information session, apply for the position, take a test to evaluate English language proficiency and object recognition aptitude, and participate in an interview.
TSA officers screen thousands of airline travelers daily, ensuring they arrive at their destinations safely. They provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner.
The starting pay for both a full- and part-time position is $19.07 an hour. The TSA is also offering a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000, which includes $500 after onboarding and an additional $500 after one year of service for individuals who are hired before Sept. 30, 2022.
