Several Ukrainian American organizations that are standing in solidarity with Ukraine amid the continued attacks happening overseas, held a press briefing Friday about the invasion. 
Maria Rose tells News 12 that she has family in Ukraine right now and that she’s fearful for their lives. 
"I'm worried about my family because they live right next the military base that was bombed and I'm worried because they have infants there. Growing up we've learned you don't want this to happen, and this is what's happened and it's just devastating not only to me but to my whole Ukrainian community here,” Rose tells News 12. 
Rose describes the invasion as her worst nightmare coming to life. 
Several Ukrainian American organizations held the press briefing Friday to highlight what’s happening overseas and to discuss the help that Ukraine needs right now. 
The consul general of Ukraine says the country needs military help, and for allies of Ukraine to impose the strictest sanctions against Russia. 
He says sanctions would be a peaceful way to end the conflict. 
President Joe Biden imposed several sanctions on Russia that would impact their technology and banking.
