US Attorney's Office: 8 charged for distributing fentanyl linked to overdoses in the Bronx
Officials say eight people have been charged in connection with the distribution of fentanyl that led to several fatal overdoses in the Bronx.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York charged Jesus Cabrera, Michael Amaya and Alberto Concepcion with distributing drugs that resulted in the death of a man back in August 2021.
In addition, Humberto Borges, Frankie Capellan, Willie Harris, Luis Ramirez and Jose Figueroa were also charged in connection with the drug trafficking ring.
"As alleged, the defendants operated a network for the distribution of highly addictive and dangerous drugs. Despite knowing about the deadly effects of fentanyl, Cabrera and his crew continued to sell countless doses throughout the Bronx," U.S. Attorney Damian Williams says.
Capellan and Harris are still at large.
