Teens and other new drivers will now have to learn more about tire safety if they want to pass their driving test.
Michelin launched a campaign in 2014 to make sure new drivers around the country knew about tire safety.
Tire-related issues are one of the biggest causes of accidents in the United States. According to government data, 12 percent of accidents with new drivers happen because of tire-related issues.
As a result of the campaign, all 50 states have promised to train new drivers on tire safety, which includes checking tire pressure monthly along with how deep the grooves are to see how much wear and tear there has been.
One by one, states will be changing the language in driving manuals to include information about how to keep tires safe to drive.
