New York City open COVID-19 vaccine hubs on
Sunday morning.
News 12 was at the South Bronx Education Campus on
Saturday, which will serve as one of three hubs along with the Bushwick
Educational Campus and Hillcrest High School in Queens.
They will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 7
p.m. with another 12 hubs scheduled to be open next week.
The vaccines will be given out by appointment only to
eligible New Yorkers. Officials say the process will take about 30 minutes –
from receiving the shot to a brief observation period in case of allergic
reaction.
Depending on supply, it's estimated each hub will be
able to vaccinate around 2,000 New Yorkers a day in the city’s underserved
areas.
