Video captured a car crashing into the outdoor dining area at Alula Cafe Thursday. 

Diners outside were enjoying their coffee and breakfast until they say the unexpected happened. 

Police tell News 12 a 33-year-old woman at the cafe experienced pain on the right side of her body after the crash and was taken to the hospital.  The gay Toyota Camry just drove off, according to police.

However, the cafe quickly picked up the pieces and continued serving customers. 

Ladia Guerra, who works at the cafe and watched the incident happen, says while she personally doesn't participate in outdoor dining because she doesn't trust drivers--she is not surprised that people are still sitting in the street, even after hearing about what happened.  

 “Just because New Yorkers wanna go out and eat and do their thing,” said Guerra. 

She says she's grateful that besides minor injuries everyone seems OK. 

 “It could have been worse, which I’m glad it wasn’t,” said Guerra. 

Police are now searching for the driver of that vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
