Police officers and other community members paid tribute to slain Detective Miosotis Familia at a candlelight vigil outside the 49th Precinct building Wednesday night.
As News 12 has reported, police say Alexander Bonds fired a bullet through the window of her mobile command post in Fordham last week, striking her in the head. NYPD officials have called the attack an "assassination."
Familia's funeral was Tuesday, with thousands of people attending Mass at World Changers Church. She was posthumously promoted to detective during the ceremony.
The shooting sparked many prayer services and vigils around the city, as masses of people paid their respects to her for her 12 years of service.
