It was another cool, dreary day in the Hudson Valley, with plenty of clouds and spotty showers. Temperatures were cooler than average. Moisture will continue to stream into the area overnight, along with a chance of scattered showers. We'll see patchy fog in several spots overnight as the moisture slowly settles down to the surface.
Wednesday will see more sunny breaks come around, which will allow the temps to warm up more than they were on Tuesday. There will also be a threat of scattered showers and isolated storms to develop in the afternoon hours, mainly west of the Hudson River. Any storms that do form will bring a quick soaking of rain. They are not expected to be strong to severe.
The threat of severe weather on Thursday increases across the entire Hudson Valley. Thunderstorms could bring damaging wind gusts to the region. That is the primary concern, but we can't rule out small hail as well.
A cold front is responsible for firing up the severe weather threat on Thursday, but once it passes by overnight into Friday, the humidity levels will go down as moisture is pushed out.
It will not be bone dry, but it will feel more comfortable than it will feel on Thursday afternoon. Friday at 10:41 p.m. is when summer officially arrives, and it will feel like the new season really soon.
