Tenants at the Melrose Houses have been told they can use the water once again after crews installed equipment to rid the complex's systems of legionella.
As News 12 has reported, four of the NYCHA complex's nine buildings preliminarily tested positive for the bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease.
For the past day or so, hot water was intermittently shut off as crews installed ionization systems and filters to rid the water of the bacteria.
The buildings where legionella was detected are located at 618 Courtlandt Ave.; 304 E. 156th St.; 346 E. 156th St.; and 320 E. 156th St.
One person was hospitalized last week from the Courtlandt Avenue building with Legionnaires' symptoms.
At its peak, the Legionnaires' outbreak in the Bronx swelled to at least 128 cases and caused 12 deaths, according to health officials.
