A water main break on Southern Boulevard in Mott Haven caused significant delays on the No. 6 train line Wednesday.
The MTA says trains have since resumed running in both directions, but workers were still up top making repairs in the afternoon. Delays are expected to continue indefinitely, and officials say people should look to the Bx19 or 33 buses as alternatives.
The break damaged sidewalks and subway tracks near the stop at East 143rd and St. Mary's streets, but riders felt the impact between 125th Street and Hunts Point Avenue.
For a while, the MTA offered shuttle buses to help stranded straphangers.
