The family of Allan Feliz held a rally and news conference on Saturday at City Hall on what would have been his 36th birthday.
In 2019, Feliz was shot and killed during a traffic stop gone wrong. Police say he was pulled over in the Norwood section of the Bronx for a seatbelt violation and officer-worn body cameras captured a struggle between Feliz and officers.
Saturday also marked 10 months since the Civilian Complaint Review Board determined that Lt. Jonathan Rivera, the officer who shot Feliz, should be fired.
"My brother meant something truly to all of us and we're not going to just disappear. We're calling to demand the firing of Jonathan Rivera and to ensure that the case is retained by the CCRB so that we can get our justice that we have so longed for," said Sammy Feliz, Feliz’s brother.
News 12 reached out to the NYPD and they declined to comment since there is pending litigation.
