A Brooklyn spa has reopened offering a variety of self-care services to clients after making changes to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Cynergy Spa in Fort Greene is known for their massages, body scrubs, aroma therapy and more.
The business has been in the neighborhood for more than a decade, and now it’s opening its doors again after being closed since March due to COVID-19.

"We have been picking up with client calls and appointments so, it just feels really good to do what we've always done - really provide a relaxing space for our clients,” says Jack Sherman, the spa’s manager.
The spa reopened this month, but owner, Marsha-Ann Boyea, says safety precautions are in place to keep staff and clients safe.
"We have to ensure that, you know we had things in place like the sneeze guards at the front desk and we also put in place air purifiers that have the HEPA filters that filter out 99.97% of all the microbes in the air,” says Boyea.
They've also added hand sanitizing stations throughout the spa, require face masks to be worn, and have signs up that encourage social distancing.
Employees are even tested for coronavirus every two weeks.
"Anyone in the industry has to be tested every two weeks, so pretty much we're one of the safest industries to be in,” says Boyea.
Staff says the business took a hit financially after being closed for so long, but they're happy they survived the shutdown and are able to take clients again.

And now that the spa has reopened, Boyea says she's hoping for things to return to pre-pandemic normalcy by the end of the year so that business can fully get back on track.
