Sugar and spice and everything nice is what one woman is whipping up at Sofia and Grace Cookies, which is now open.
Shalonda Vasquez named the Bed-Stuy cookie shop after her 4-year-old twins, Sofia and Grace.
She says during these uncertain times, she has had to get creative with how she would sell her product.
“We had to definitely rely on services such as Uber Eats and Door Dash to get orders out because there wasn't a lot of foot traffic, during this whole pandemic,” says Vasquez.
Vasquez says the shop whipped up more than 30 different flavors of cookies during the pandemic, all while focusing on safety.
“We had to shorten the days, and close for two days. We're usually open seven days a week, but we got through it and we're so thankful for that,” says Vasquez.
While business may look a bit different, Vasquez says she never wants to lose the essence her business was built on.
“Sofia and Grace Cookies just reminds you of a great time of your childhood. Sometimes we'll have customers come in, when they have a cookie, they'll dance,” says Vasquez.
