A walkway in Westchester Square is causing a variety of concerns for Bronx residents.
The busy intersection on Marconi Avenue has a walkway that connects pedestrians from one side of the street to the metro center atrium. While access appears to be simple, some residents say the lack of a sidewalk or stop light make it quite dangerous.
One pedestrian tells News 12 that crossing the intersection is like playing a video game. She says you must adequately time your walk just to make it to the other side.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Transportation about the walkway. In a statement, it says it's "aware of concerns regarding pedestrians and motorists in this area and is in the process of performing two separate signal studies along Marconi Avenue."
