The Westwood Police Department is warning parents about a potentially dangerous TikTok trend.

Police say the “Orbeez Challenge” suggests participants shoot at people with Orbeez water gel pellets using an Airsoft-style gun.

Authorities say that such an incident occurred in Westwood on March 18.

“These pellets can cause harm and injury to others or to property. Anyone who engages in this conduct can be subject to criminal penalties which relate to the conduct. Pointing any type of firearm, even a toy, at someone is inherently dangerous,” police wrote in a statement on Facebook.

Officials are reminding parents to monitor what their children are doing online and on social media. They also suggest that parents discuss with their children the dangers of such actions.
