Video released by police shows the tense moments where a man armed with a large knife attempted to steal an electric bicycle in Tremont.
The incident happened on Dec. 5 around 11 p.m., police say, when the suspect approached a 56-year-old man and 40-year-old woman and brandished his knife.
The two victims can be seen in the video struggling with the man as they attempt to wrestle the bike back from the robber, with the female victim even attempting to throw a nearby trash can at the suspect.
After the short struggle, the male victim dropped his phone on the pavement, police say, the the suspect then grabbed it and ran off.
Neither victim was injured in this incident.
The suspect is described as a man wearing a hooded, black sweater, gray jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
