Rep. Ritchie Torres and NYC DEP Commissioner Rohit Aggarwala met with residents Tuesday to discuss flooding in their Williamsbridge neighborhood.
Two August storms caused damage to several homes along a two-block stretch of Barnes Avenue in Williamsbridge.
DEP Commissioner Aggarwala tells News12 that more frequent and stronger storms have pushed the city’s sewer systems to the limit.
The DEP did show residents the tool it uses to clear catch basins.
Residents says they’d like to see them used more frequently in their neighborhood.
