As the finals of the Wimbledon are heating up across the pond in London, Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park has transformed for tennis fans to get the full Wimbledon experience.
Just like fans gather on The Hill in London to watch the matches on the big screen, New Yorkers will get the opportunity to do that right here in Brooklyn.
A thousand ticket holders can experience the traditions of Wimbledon, from the famous strawberries and cream dessert to the refreshing gin cocktails, plus photo ops for families.
“This is the New York version of Wimbledon” said Jeremy Cohen, Brooklyn resident and tennis fan. “It might be better because New York is the best city in the world, and I’m watching it here, and I kind of feel like I’m there.”
If you weren’t able to snag a ticket ahead of time, you can walk in - but capacity is limited. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
