STORM WATCH: Threat of freezing rain could bring an icy morning for Friday

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Northern Fairfield and Litchfield counties early Friday due to the potential for a glaze of ice.

Rain is expected on Friday, but it may start out as a brief period of freezing rain before temperatures rise.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Northern Fairfield and Litchfield counties early Friday due to the potential for a glaze of ice.
Temperatures will be on the move and will rise above freezing during Friday morning.
High temperatures for the day will top out in the lower 40s. Both the morning and evening commutes will be impacted by this storm.
The milder air won't stick around too long as colder temperatures settle in for Friday night.
There is a slight risk of some rain changing over to wet snow for the higher terrain in Litchfield County.
There is also a slight risk that patchy ice may form due to refreezing and below-freezing temperatures.
There is also a risk of light snow or rain showers north late Sunday. The weather looks dry until the middle of next week.
FRIDAY: Early freezing rain, then plain rain. Warmer. High of 42.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy. High of 37.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy, late snow or rain showers. High of 37.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. High of 49.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. High of 40.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, sprinkles or flurries. High of 38.
THURSDAY: Rain and wintry mix showers. High of 47.
