Stronger winds are starting to be felt off the East River as storms are expected in the city from the remnants of former Hurricane Laura.

Conditions in Throgs Neck were humid Saturday morning, with light rain falling intermittently in the area.

Fog conditions by the Throgs Neck Bridge were fairly clear as of 9:30 a.m. as waves along the East River started to crash onto the shoreline.

Some fog could be seen above the Manhattan skyline beyond the Whitestone Bridge.

Periods of steady rain are expected throughout the day, with the chance for some thunderstorms.
