A teenage girl was sent to the hospital Thursday after falling under the tire of a bus.
The incident happened at the Bx15 bus stop near East Tremont and Third avenues at around 1:30 p.m.
Witnesses say they saw the teen girl try to hop on the bus while it was stalled and not in park. They say the girl then slipped underneath the bus and hit her head, resulting in a bloody wound. She also began shifting in and out of consciousness.
Witnesses say the bus driver apparently did not realize the girl had been struck and began to drive, rolling over the girl's shoulder. However, the MTA says the girl never made contact with the wheel.
The passengers on board at the time were transferred to other buses.
Police are investigating the incident to determine whether anyone is at fault.
