A bar owner was shot after refusing to serve a man in the Bronx Friday, according to police.
It happened at 1 a.m. at the El Rey de Copas bar on White Plains Road in Allerton.
Family members say 52-year-old Mario Ramirez was shot by a drunk and disgruntled customer who caused a scene prior to the shooting.
Ramirez's brother says he refused to serve the man a drink because he appeared to be too drunk and that's when the suspect fired at least three shots, two of which struck Ramirez in the chest.
They say the suspect used to come into the bar frequently, but was kicked out in the past for being a troubled customer.
Police say Ramirez is in critical condition at the hospital.
The gunman is still on the loose, and police say they are reviewing surveillance video.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
