A terrifying attack on an MTA bus in the Bronx has left residents shaken. Authorities say a woman was assaulted after a man threw an unknown liquid on her while she was riding the Bx15 bus with three children.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. Monday near Third Avenue and East Tremont. According to the woman, the suspect pulled a knife during the attack and threw the liquid, causing panic.
Officers responded to the scene and escorted the woman and her children to safety. The bus was taken out of service, and an ambulance was on standby, but no injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Residents who heard about the incident expressed their concerns.
“It's scary. I feel threatened,” said Maria, a local resident.
“That’s why I ain't been on the train for a long time because I’m scared of the train because things happen on the train but now this, it sounds scary,” said resident James Thomas.
A source close to the police believe this was an isolated incident.
