A 56-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of her boyfriend.

Wanda Morales is accused of killing 44-year-old Samuel Calcano, who was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center on Saturday.

Police responded to a 911 call early Saturday morning about a man who fell and cut himself at 521 Commonwealth Ave. in the Soundview area. However, when they arrived, police found that Calcano has sustained a stab wound to the chest.

Morales is also charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
