A woman who watched in horror as her neighbor was stabbed and slashed by two knife-wielding men in the Bronx is speaking out for the first time since the attack.
Kenda Price recalls the moments her casual Saturday evening with friends and neighbors ended in bloodshed.
"I saw his hands in his pocket. I'm a single mother and I have seven kids. My life is valuable to me," Price told News 12. "They caught her, she was the last one."
Price was one of at least five people seen running away on surveillance video as two knife-wielding men approached a group of people Saturday night outside a shelter on Holland Avenue.
Police say one of the suspects lunged toward a woman stabbing her in the stomach, while the other suspect slashed her ear.
Price says the 26-year-old woman is her neighbor and a mother of two children.
"Whatever he did to her can't stop her. She will still be out here taking care of her kids," Price says.
Police say the woman who was stabbed is expected to be OK.
Police have released surveillance images of the suspects who were seen driving a black car.
The suspects are still on the loose, according to police.
"Our nerves are still bad whenever we see a black car go by with tinted windows," Price says.
