One woman who will be running in this year's New York City Marathon is doing so in the memory of her father.
Kate Morley, who just started running three years ago, says she is motivated to run because of her father who died when she was just 7 years old. Morley's father died from severe burns as a FDNY firefighter.
Morley will be making the 26.2-mile trek to raise awareness for the New York City Police Fire Widow's and Children Charity. The organization has helped not only Morley's family, but hundreds of others.
“I think he is always with me, I think I’m gonna be thinking about him a lot on Sunday,” Morley says. “When I need to dig deep, I will definitely call on him for support.”
