Organizations, as well as New Yorkers, are heeding Mayor Bill de Blasio's call to step up and help each other during the nationwide crisis.
About 5,000 packed meals were handed out at seven different locations throughout the city. Bronx residents tell News 12 that every bit helps during this tough economic time when the future is uncertain.
They say charitable efforts like this one will be needed more than ever now that the financial impact of coronavirus continues to take its toll on the local economy.
