This Veterans Day, a 94-year-old World War II veteran who lives in Brooklyn re-received a medal he first received years ago.
Reginald Johnson joined the Navy as a young man and served most of his time in Guam, but was injured in 1942.
He received the Purple Heart medal, which is an award for members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are wounded or killed while serving, but he had misplaced it over the years.
The veteran liaison with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Christopher Webster, who's also a veteran did some digging and got Johnson another Purple Heart medal.
On Wednesday, his children, Lena and David, presented their father with the honor.
The family says Webster and his work to get Johnson the medal he earned nearly 80 years ago will never be forgotten.
