Yonkers neighborhood residents say mail delivery service has been inconsistent; USPS to look into the issue

A group of residents in one Yonkers neighborhood say it has become a case of maybe or maybe not when it comes to getting their mail in a timely manner.
"We wouldn't get mail sometimes for two or three days," says Lynn Primes. She says it happens every time her mail carrier takes a few days off. She says that's when her much-needed mail deliveries also seem to disappear.
"Every time he goes on vacation, we get these substitutes who will stand in the middle of the street trying to figure out what to do with the mail," she says.
Primes is not alone.
Some of her fellow neighbors on Jessamine Avenue say even though mail delivery finally resumed on Saturday, they're worried about what will happen next that could curtail the mail.
Bill Bellio, who has lived on the street since 1978, says interruptions in the mail service are something he's learned to live with. He says it hasn't been a major issue but added that this has been the longest time since residents went without mail.
Spokesman for the United States Postal Service Mark E. Lawrence responded to News 12's request for comment on the mail delivery issue that has since been resolved. He said that he would look into the situation.
