A 5-year-old girl was among two people who were killed when a cab jumped the curb along the Grand Concourse Friday evening. Two other people on the curb were seriously injured.
It happened near 170th Street in the northbound lanes of the Grand Concourse at around 6:30 p.m.. Police say a green cab sideswiped a parked car, then jumped the curb and struck the victims. The 5-year-old who was killed, identified as Tierre Clark, had been waiting for a bus.
Police say 25-year-old Kadeem Brown was also struck and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two more people were seriously injured and remain hospitalized. Their identities have not been released, but officials say they are a 55-year-old man, who is in critical condition, and a 39-year-old woman, who is in stable condition.
Police say the 44-year-old cab driver was allegedly speeding before the incident. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, but there is no word on his current condition.
The driver of the car that was sideswiped was also treated for minor injuries.
