40th Precinct seeks bond with community
Police officers from the NYPD's 40th Precinct in the Bronx were out in force Wednesday to promote an annual community forum on children's safety.
Community Affairs officers Hector Espada and Claudia Mera passed out fliers and encouraged parents, grandparents and youth to attend the annual Youth Safety Forum.
The forum gives a platform for police and youth to interact with each other, especially during a time of great divide between the two.
Community affairs officers say they welcome the interaction with neighbors.
Police say that if enough people show an interest, they will increase the frequency of the forums to once every three months.
