Arrest made in Baychester Avenue fatal shooting
An arrest has been made in the murder of a Bronx man who was shot in front of a school on Baychester Avenue.
Police say Jonathan 'Platinum' Jay, 32, is facing charges of criminally negligent homicide and attempted criminally negligent homicide.
According to police, Jay shot 55-year-old Lionel Samuel in the torso, killing him. Police say he also shot a 54-year-old man in the leg.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. on May 27 in front of Bronx Alliance Middle School and behind Cardinal Spellman High School.
Police believe the victims crashed their vehicle into a tree about a mile away on Bronx Boulevard, while trying to drive to the hospital.
It took police less than a week to identify the suspects wanted.
Police say one of the suspects, Sheldon 'Slim' Edmond, is still on the run.
