Best of the Bronx: The Bronx Babe
An actress who grew up during some of the borough's toughest years is sharing her history with humor.
Known as the Bronx Babe, Sonny Lee spent her childhood in University Heights in the 1970s. She now uses her family for inspiration and shares her middle school experiences in "The Bronx Babe," a comedic one-woman show.
Lee says she nearly gave up many times after losing her mother, brother and sister, but she decided to live and to write instead.
You'll next see Lee off-Broadway this fall, but even though she'll be performing in Manhattan, you won't be able to mistake her signature Bronx accent.
