A 6-year-old boy is celebrating his birthday, one year after he was shot in the head on his 5th birthday.
Jaheem Hunter was hospitalized and in a medically induced coma last June after being hit with a stray bullet that almost killed him.
Hunter went through surgeries, seizures and scars and now has a titanium plate in his head.
Police say the accused shooter, Michael Quiles, fired off several shots and then ran from the scene as shown in surveillance footage.
Quiles was charged with attempted murder and other charges. Quiles' lawyer is reportedly arguing that Hunter was not the intended target.
This day last year, masses of people walked to put an end to gun violence after Hunter was shot.
