A music teacher got a well-deserved surprise on Tuesday at M.S. 101 as she was able to receive new instruments for the first time in years through the WQXR Instrument Drive.
"When I got the email that everything was brand new, it was like the best news," Theresa Oberer says.
The students and faculty say it wasn't just about the instruments, but that Oberer is a huge inspiration. The surprise was a way for them to say thank you for all that she has done.
Oberer says this moment was very special to her, and she hopes to see her students pursue their dreams.
