A Bronx middle school is collecting food to donate to local shelters just in time for Thanksgiving.
Mott Hall Middle School collected 1,100 pounds of food during a student organized food drive.
Through a city program called City Harvest, the students will donate the food to local shelters in the Bronx.
Students were responsible for every aspect of the food drive from publicizing to organizing the event and even scheduling food pickups.
School officials say the students were also able to secure 1,500 pounds of donated food last year.
