A Riverdale intersection that area residents say is dangerous due to speeding drivers will finally get a traffic light, according to transportation officials.
Neighbors say they have been pushing for the traffic light at the West 235th Street and Independence Avenue intersection for more than 10 years.
Officials say there was a need for a traffic light because there are two schools, a large apartment complex, a library and a community center nearby.
Installation is scheduled for February.
