The man who helped to create some of Marvel's greatest superheroes and villains could soon have a street named after him in the Bronx.
A section of University Avenue could soon be called "Stan Lee Way."
To comic book fans, Lee is a real-life superhero, and now there's a proposal on the table to honor his Bronx roots by co-naming a section of University Avenue where he used to live.
The city council voted Tuesday to approve the proposal to co-name ?University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street to "Stan Lee Way." The section is located down the street from where Lee spent his teenage years at 1720 University Ave.
Lee is known for helping create comic book heroes like Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk and Magneto to name a few.
Lee passed away from cardiac arrest last November.
The proposal is currently awaiting the mayor's signature.
