Courtroom becomes spa to fight domestic violence
The city converted part of the Bronx Supreme Court building Tuesday into a spa to raise awareness of domestic violence.
The amount of domestic violence victims in the borough is rising, according to statistics from the mayor's office.
Borough leaders hosted the 13th annual Bronx Diva Spa, which invited women to receive free services as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Many of the women involved are domestic violence survivors themselves, and the city had counselors on hand to speak with anyone in need.
