Drivers head to car washes to banish snow salt
Street salt can cause major damage to cars, even as it helps to melt the snow and ice left over from last week's blizzard.
The Department of Motor Vehicles recommends going to the car wash as often as possible during winter months. The agency also recommends having car wash employees steam clean underneath cars, the area which is the most susceptible to damage from salt.
The DMV also recommends getting cars re-waxed and sealed after being washed.
