A Bronx family is searching for their emotional support dog, Prince, after their other dog, Poppy, was hit by a car over the weekend.
David McLaughlin, the dogs’ owner, says he brought them home Sunday. He says while at their new home, the dogs got scared by a door opening and ran off. Poppy was hit immediately by a car and is in intensive care. Prince is still missing.
McLaughlin says Prince went running up I-87. He says he chased him on the Major Deegan into oncoming traffic, but when he went to grab the dog, it turned around and bit him.
David says that family only had Poppy and Prince for about an hour before they ran off.
There is a $1,000 reward for anyone who returns Prince.
