Flooded exit ramp makes for dangerous driving
Bronx drivers say they've been flooded with problems due to a persistent pool of water.
Drivers getting off Pelham Parkway onto the I-95 South exit ramp drive through a large puddle, which they complain has created a huge pothole and a dangerous driving situation.
Drivers say the pool of water has been there so long that they know to stay on the right side of the road to avoid the ditch in the middle.
Councilman James Vacca says he's reached out to the city's Department of Environmental Protection to fix the mess. He agrees with residents that the sitting water may be the result of an underground pipe that burst and was never repaired.
The Department of Transportation told News 12 that its crews are investigating the water infrastructure to figure out the source of the leak and will then proceed with needed repairs.
