Bronx residents were once again preparing for a nor'easter this week as officials urge them to get ready in advance.
Hardware stores stocked up on shovels and ice melt, and shoppers were in and out buying them all day. People also packed the borough's supermarkets for food and other supplies ahead of the snow.
At the Food Bazaar in Soundview, some shoppers grabbed everything from beer and bottled water to ramen, ice cream and cold cuts.
"We're going to get a storm," said William Pedone, the owner of Van Nest Hardware. "It's New York. It's March."
Pedone said Van Nest Hardware will remain open Wednesday during the storm in case people need last-minute supplies.
News 12 meteorologists say the storm could bring 5 to 10 inches to most of the city and as much as 8 to 12 inches in the north and west. Authorities say residents should plan for power outages and travel delays.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until 4 a.m. Thursday.
