A hole near a playground at the Castle Hill Houses has residents concerned for the safety of their children.

Jose Perez, who has lived at Castle Hill Houses for 14 years, says the hole is just steps away from the playground. He says people are concerned to send their kids out to play, which he says is not fair since they pay rent.

Perez says there are other hazards lurking around the complex. He pointed out a few rocky spots that are located near the complex's drains. 

Both the hole and the rocky areas have been cautioned off with tape and cones, but that's not enough for residents. Tomasa Frederick says she wants to see something done before a kid falls and gets injured.

Residents called the New York City Housing Authority and 311, but got no response at first. Now, NYCHA officials say repairs are scheduled for the Castle Hill houses. They say carpenters will install wood covers over the areas where its needed.
