In the wake of recent violence in the Bronx, one group took to the streets for a walk they say is meant to spread love and respect.
The National Action Network organized the Love and Respect Walk. Students, clergy members, and other activists walked from 183rd Street to 161st Street along Grand Concourse pledging to help de-escalate violence by relating to young people.
The group says that the violence is not the fault of the young people, but the fault of adults who don't listen.
Organizers tell News 12 The Bronx that this walk is especially significant because although it's geared toward preventing violence in the Bronx, it's a sign from all five boroughs working together for a common goal.
The National Action Network has regular youth meetings every Monday night to further its message.
