Massive tree branch crashes onto car
A car was damaged after a massive tree branch came crashing down onto a Bronx sidewalk and street.
It happened at around 3 p.m. Monday on Echo Place, just steps away from Richman (Echo) Park and right where a group of people sit to play cards every day.
No one was injured, but the vehicle suffered extensive damage.
The incident comes just two weeks after two brothers were injured at Bronx River Park when a branch fell on top of them, breaking one of their legs.
According to the Parks Department website, crews conduct routine pruning to street trees on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis. However, if you see a damaged tree with broken limbs that you think could be hazardous, you can report it online or by calling 311.
