The MTA is reportedly considering an idea to remove seats on the L train and replace them with foldable benches.
According to the New York Daily News, the MTA plans to retrofit train cars on the L line with fold-up benches which lock shut during rush hour so more people can cram on board.
Earlier this week, the MTA reveled its newly revamped subway cars which already include less seating in addition to onboard LCD screens and LED lighting.
The MTA has not publicly commented if changes are being made to seats on the L train.
However, published reports say the MTA is considering trial runs on the L line.
