NY Times: Mets/Yanks viewership starting to even out
TV ratings for the Yankees has typically averaged higher than for Mets games but that is all changing as the Amazins' record continues to sizzle.
According to the New York Times, viewership for both teams is starting to even out. The Times reports that the Mets are drawing an average of 253,000 viewers per game on its network SNY. That is up 47 percent from the same time last year.
As for the Yankees, the Times reports that the team is averaging 267,000 viewers per game on the YES network.
The Times reports that the Yankees consistent average is 400,000 a game in years past while the Mets peaked at 314,000 in 2007.
