NYPD: 5-year-old fell from 5th-floor apartment
A 5-year-old boy fell five floors out of a Bronx apartment building Tuesday night.
Police say the boy fell from a building near the intersection of Boston and Prospect avenues around 7:30 p.m. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Neighbors described the boy's parents as good people. Several say they witnessed the fall.
There did not appear to be window guards in the family's apartment, but police say they are still investigating the cause of the fall.
Landlords are required to install window guards in most city apartment buildings for tenants with children under 10 years old.
